Folding screen _ Collaboration with Tim Van Steenbergen
Flanders & Belgium had an important role in the tradition of tapestry weaving. It was the centre of tapestry from the 15th century until the 18th century.

This folding screen translates a print design of Tim Van Steenbergen into a functional tapestry, building upon that tradition. With the thought of wabi-sabi in mind, which was the inspiration for the artwork made by Tim, 3 panels were woven in angora, silk, wool and cotton and hung up in a handmade frame.
The folding screen is the result of a 2-year long apprenticeship in tapestry weaving, made possible by a scholarship from the Flemish Government. As an act of preserving the knowledge needed to weave high-quality work, Lies Fauconnier, Martine Geladi, Vera Potargent en Godelieve Weytjens were thought all tricks of the trade by Joke Indestege (weaver at Bokrijk Museum).
