Lies Fauconnier - Artisan & designer
Lies Fauconnier is an artisan - designer exploring the possibilities of making of textiles or with textiles.
Her work explores different ways of making, from industrial and manual to digital production. It's an exploration of techniques and production processes but also about exploring her culture and heritage as a Belgian weaver/ textile artisan/ designer.

A job as a knitwear programmer holds the designer in touch with industrial production processes. Her artistic exploration of weaving, tapestry, embroidery, felting and quilting involves hands-on research to catalyse new ideas. The designer strongly believes in a positive interaction between all these experiences to create new work.

This results in a ranged body of work that involves artisanal products, conceptual or collectable design objects and probes that suggest new ways of working based on existing processes.
